[ARCHIVED] Fire Hydrant Flushing in Two New Areas

Beginning at approximately 8:00 on Thursday, June 16, 2011, weather permitting the Aberdeen Fire Department will begin flow-testing fire hydrants in two areas in Aberdeen:

First Area: From the railroad tracks north to city limits
between North 5th Street west to city limits

Second Area: 12th Avenue SE south to city limits
between South Dakota Street and South Roosevelt Street

The fire department will be opening hydrants and residents will experience some water pressure changes, and in some instances the water will be disturbed to the point of discoloring or appearing rusty. The project will continue until completed in these areas of the city until all hydrants have been tested. Any questions or problems can be reported to the Public Works Department at 626-7010.
