2023 Promotion Fund Requests Guidelines & Application

2023 Promotion Fund Applicants,

As we enter the month of May, that can only mean one thing- it is time for the City’s annual budgeting process to begin. This month, city departments prepare their budgets for submission and review by the City Manager. In the following months, those proposals will be reviewed, amended, and included in the final budget document approved by the City Council in September.

A similar process occurs with applications for Promotion Funds by outside agencies. Applications are accepted in the month of May. The requests will first be compared with eligibility criteria and revenue projections. In June, the City Council will then determine the recipients and amounts awarded to be included with the final budget approval in September.

Applications for new Promotion Fund requests are now being accepted. Multi-year funding requests that have previously been approved by the City Council do not need to re-apply.

Attached you will find guidelines for applying for the 2023 Promotions Fund and information on how the proposals will be evaluated. Please review these carefully as you consider if your funding request matches the criteria for applications. If you feel your request matches the criteria, please mail or hand deliver a “Promotion Fund Request Form” to the City Manager’s Office at 123 S Lincoln St, Aberdeen, South Dakota 57401 no later than 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022.  These applications can also be emailed to
