Dog Obedience

Registration for all Fall Classes will begin Tuesday, September 3. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. K-9 KINDERGARTEN


For puppies ages 3 months to 2 years - maximum. This weekly class emphasizes a basic obedience regimen, with a high priority placed on socialization between canines, and meeting new people. Participants will learn canine body language, and how it relates to other canines, animals and people. Puppies will also be introduced to agility equipment, near the end of each session. Participants are required to bring proof of appropriate vaccinations, and Bordetella vaccination is required to attend. Ages 14 and up.

NEW! CLICKER TRAINING FOR DOGS SEMINAR


Are you interested in the Clicker Training for Dogs course, but not ready to bring your dog? Maybe you are interested in taking notes and would like the great training information in a slower seminar format, before you bring your dog to class? This seminar will cover all the training information from the Clicker Training for Dogs course in an environment where you don’t have to divide your attention between listening to your instructor and training your dog at the same time. Beneficial for owners who have already taken the class and who will want to take it in the future. Seminar will be 1.5 hours, with time for questions. Handouts will be provided. All ages welcome.

CLICKER TRAINING FOR DOGS


Come learn a new way to communicate with your dog! Using positive reinforcement, this course is designed to be an introduction into the topic of clicker training. This is NOT a pass/fail class, just a fun way to help you and your dog learn new skills. No pre-requisites and open to all ages of dogs. Be prepared to bring treats to class to train with. Participants will need to bring shot records for canine to class as proof of appropriate vaccinations and Bordetella is required. Ages 16 and up.

GOOD PUP BASICS


In this canine obedience class, focus on raising healthy, well-adjusted, and socialized dogs. Learn new techniques to build your dog’s confidence using positive reinforcement, and help your dog develop proper manners, play skills, and self-control while building a strong relationship between yourself and your dog. Participants will need to bring shot records for canine to class as proof of appropriat vaccinations and Bordetella is required. Ages 16 and up.

STAR PUPPY PROGRAM


The American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is a 6-week incentive program to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. Training classes include socialization skills, information on puppy raising including house training, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. The class is led by an AKC approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, with a test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test you will receive an application to send to the AKC to receive the Star Puppy Medal, and be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records. For puppies up to one year of age. Participants will need to bring shot records for canines to class as proof of appropriat vaccinations and Bordetella is required. Ages 13 and up.

CANINE MANNERS CLASS


Are you the top dog in your home, or is your dog the one who runs the show? Be the master of your domain once again by enrolling Fido in this beginning course to help you gain control! This course will cover basic training in come, sit, down, greeting strangers, stay, and heel along with basic behavioral conditioning to establish pack order in the household. Participants must be strong enough to handle their dog. Participants will need to bring shot records for canine to class as proof of appropriate vaccinations and Bordetella is required. Ages 10 and up.
