Paint, Paper & Pen

Registration for all Winter/Spring Classes will begin Monday, January 4. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. WRITING


BEGINNING NOVEL WRITING


If you've ever wanted to write a novel but don't know how to get started this is the class for you. We will begin at the beginning and continue all session! Come with your novel or story idea and an open mind to get started! This class is also a good place to start if you have a current novel in progress but haven't had a chance to work on it yet. Instructor will email participants before beginning of class to discuss any current COVID protocols required. Ages 16 and up.

POETRY


Poetry is an exciting type of literature which arranges aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language, allowing for expression of experiences, ideas and emotions in an imaginative way. In this class you will learn about different types of poetry; such as lyric, narrative, and satirical. You will collectively explore and implement; figures of speech, line breaks, poetic diction, poetic form, cadence and how to identify and implement basics of the craft with in your own works. Samples will be available. Ages 15 and up.

WATERCOLOR PAINTING


This course will explore basic watercolor techniques and color mixing for beginners, but will also experiment with more advanced ways of using them. Feel free to bring your own subject matter. Ages 16 and up.

BASICS OF ACRYLIC POUR PAINTING


Learn the basics of acrylic pour painting to create your own unique art pieces. In this fun and experimental class, participants will learn a recipe for mixing paint to a desired thickness, as well as explore the flip cup, ring pour, and traveling pour techniques. Ages 14 and up.

NEW! INTRODUCTION TO ART JOURNALING


The mundane everyday can be perfect for creative expression. Receive a journal, and fill it up with what speaks to your artistic interests. Fill it with daily agendas, lists, poetry, artwork, magazine collages; the possibilities are endless! We’ll explore different artistic techniques and page layouts! It’s scrap-booking without the rules. Ages 11 and up.

ACRYLIC POUR PAINTING: TRAVELING, THROUGH AND OVER


Experiment with acrylic pour painting techniques to create your own unique art pieces. Participants will explore pour painting techniques with various styles of travel pours and pouring from and over interesting and everyday objects, such as; strainers, ice cube trays, dust pans, etc… A class to let your pour painting imagination go free! (Note: Taking the Basic Acrylic Paint Pouring Class is a plus, but not necessary.) Ages 14 and up.
