Insta Read by the Slice  ReadyRead by the Slice!

The K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library and Danger Von Dempsey’s are giving away free pizzas to area children, 5 – 18 years old, through the Read by the Slice reading program. Beginning January 1, 2023, participants can register for the Read by the Slice program by using the READSquared library app. For every 800 minutes read, children will receive a free 8”pizza. Participants can pick up their coupon at the Public Library and redeem for an 8” pizza at Dempsey’s, 1023 S. Main St, Aberdeen, SD. Children do not have to have a library card or go to school in the Aberdeen school district to participate.  All books qualify.

Make your voice heard! Enjoy a slice of pizza while discussing ways to make the Library better.

When: February 1st, March 1st, and April 5th.

Teen (Grades 6-12) Book Club

Teen Book Club! Book options will be dystopian and fantasy themed. The first book will be chosen by the Teen Services Technician at the Library, and the other books will be voted on during registration, and at meetings. When your registration is confirmed, you will receive an email telling you to come pick up the book. It will be a library book that is checked out by the teen services librarian so a library card will not be necessary. This Library book must be returned after the book club session.
