Registration for all Winter/Spring Classes will begin Monday, January 4. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available. All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. The programs provided by the ARCC encourage the community to experience and experiment with different artistic media, mediums, and methods. Involvement in the arts can open up a multitude of options for creative growth.


On each Thursday of the month, space will be set aside to come in and work on your own projects in an open studio setting with other artists. All supplies are to be provided by participants; however, some equipment such as paper cutters, scissors and other items may be used upon permission. Participants must check in with the front desk on studio location each week. Participants must schedule an orientation time prior to the first time working in the studio.

Take an Art Break! Come to the ARCC for weekly gatherings dedicated to winding down through art. Bring projects from home to work on in a relaxed, stress free atmosphere. We will be proceeding with meetings while adhering to social distancing. All participants must wear a mask. Ages 18 and up.

This 8-week class is based upon the book, Younger, written by Sara Gottfried, MD (© 2017), the book lays out a program of life style choices to change the way age and remain healthy and energetic for all our days. Ages 40-90.

The two-step is a basic dance move done by singles, partners and groups. This class will cover the basic two step as adapted to Country Music. Instruction will focus on the basic moves, footwork and turns. Get off your chair and onto the dance floor! Ages 15 and up.

Line dancing is an excellent way to keep physically fit, build agility and exercise the memory. The Aberdeen Senior Line Dancers meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at the ARCC at 1:00 p.m. for line dance fun and socialization. An Aberdeen Senior Center Membership is required to participate. PiYo is athletic training that is influenced by Pilates and Yoga. Use your own body weight as resistance and combine the stretch of yoga with the core strengthening of Pilates to streamline and define your muscles, while building strength and flexibility in your athletic ability. High intensity, yet low impact, this workout is ideal for anyone looking to add variety to their routine, gain strength and mobility at the same time, or begin implementing a core strengthening program. This is a class that combines energy, movement and flow into yoga and Pilates!

Originally developed in Finland for their Olympic cross-country skiing and winter biathlon teams, Nordic walking provides an all-body workout that burns 20-46 % more than walking alone. Come learn not only how to use urban poling poles for walking but also how to incorporate them into an exercise program. Ages 18 and up.

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that incorporates weight shifting, circular motions, and postural exercises. It is a low impact activity that improves strength, balance and is good for your brain. We will be learning the Yang style modified 8 form. Ages 18 and up.
