1. How do I recycle in the City of Aberdeen?

Place rinsed plastics and cans directly in your blue recycling bin. These materials do not need to be kept separate, as they are sorted at the center. All papers should be placed in paper sacks and positioned so the material will not blow out.

Put the blue bin curbside on your scheduled trash pick-up day by 7:30 am. Recyclables will not be picked up in the alleys.

2. What is corrugated cardboard?

Corrugated cardboard is thick cardboard mostly used for boxes. It is easy to identify by its squiggly center core.

3. What if i have more recycling than what fits in my bin?

Fill your bin and put excess recycling in labeled boxes or a labeled container of your choosing. Place the excess behind your bin so collectors know to stop.

4. Do I have to remove the labels from my recycling items?

We prefer you do remove the paper labels from metal cans. It is not necessary to do so on plastic containers.

5. Can I drop off recyclables at the recycling center?

If you have a large quantity of recyclable materials or are not currently on a collection route, you may drop items off at the center, located at:
