Dog Obedience

Registration for Winter/Spring Brochure Classes will begin Tuesday, January 3rd. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. STAR PUPPY PROGRAM


The American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy Program is a 6 week incentive program to get dog owners and their puppies off to a good start. Training classes include socialization skills, information on puppy raising including housetraining, chewing, and the most effective way to teach practical skills such as coming when called. The class is led by an AKC approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, with a test at the end of the course. Upon passing the test, you’ll get an application to send to the AKC to receive the Star Puppy Medal and be listed in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy records. For puppies up to one year of age. Ages 13 and up.

CANINE GOOD CITIZEN


The American Kennel Club “Canine Good Citizen” is a class that stresses good manners, obedience, socialization, and responsible dog ownership. All dogs who pass the CGC Test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. This class is taught by an A.K.C. Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and is highly recommended course for all breeds (and mixes) of dogs. Breeds of dogs that may potentially be labeled as dangerous are especially encouraged to attend. Ages 10 and up.

K-9 KINDERGARTEN


Designed as a puppy’s first obedience, socialization and owner/handler educational course with their puppy. Education on the body language of canines as it relates to other animals/dogs and human in their world, observation and interpretation of ‘dog speak’. Participants should be prepared to bring shot records for canine to class. For pups ages 3 months to 2 years old maximum. Proof of appropriate puppy vaccinations and bordatella vaccination is required to attend.

CANINE MANNERS CLASS


Are you the top dog in your home, or is your dog the one who runs the show? Be the master of your domain once again by enrolling Fido in this beginning course to help you gain control! This course will cover basic training in come, sit, down, greeting strangers, stay, and heel along with basic behavioral conditioning to establish pack order in the household. Ages 10 and up. Participants must be strong enough to handle their dog.

ADVANCED DOG OBEDIENCE


This class will include walking off-leash, recall off leash, ground-work for agility, and lots of other fun things that you can teach your dog! Ages 12 and up. Dogs must have completed (and passed) basic obedience class.
