Fiber Arts

Registration for all Fall Classes will begin Tuesday, September 3. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. LOOM WEAVING


Learn several aspects of weaving and setting up a multiple harness loom from warp calculations to fully dressing it. Each student will have a loom to set up and work on. Classes range from Beginning Weaving; Advanced Beginning Weaving; to Individual Study; Beginning students will weave a small hand towel. Advanced Beginning Students will weave a small table runner. Individual Study projects depend on what the student wishes to learn and weave. There is a material fee of $20.00 or more depending on project chosen payable to the instructor. The ARCC has 15 looms available for students but each session is limited to 4 students. Ages 18 and up.


BEGINNING WEAVING


This class will cover several aspects of weaving and setting up a loom, from warp calculations to fully dressing it for weaving. Each student will have a loom to set up and work on. Students will make a small hand towel in plain weave. This can also be used as a small table runner or placemat as well. A supply fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class. Ages 18 and up.

ADVANCED BEGINNING WEAVING


This class is a continuation of Beginning Weaving. Students will dress their loom as in beginning weaving and weave a sampler of basic twill weave structures and a small hand towel or table runner of their choice. A supply fee of $20.00 - $25.00, pending projects selected, will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class. Ages 18 and up.


WEAVING - INDIVIDUAL STUDY


This class will use Pattie Graver’s book, “Next Steps in Weaving” to study one of the following weave structures - Over Shot, Summer Winter, Shadow Weave or Lace. Students will weave samples that can be made into mug rugs or coasters, then can continue on to a bigger project in future classes of “Individual Study”. A supply fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. The book may also be purchased from the instructor. Pre requisite: Beginning Weaving or can fully dress a loom. Ages 18 and up.


Supply List: pen or pencil, scissors, tape measure, notebook, and post-it-notes. Or students may rent a supply kit for $3.00 payable to Instructor
