Registration for all Fall Classes has begun. Programs are filled on a first-pay, first-served basis, preregistration by the published deadline is required. Payment can be made by credit or debit card by phone or by check or cash in person. Online Registration also available.  All classes are subject to 6.5% sales tax. LOOM WEAVING – NEW!


The ARCC now offers a variety of classes to teach how to weave on harness looms. Choose the right class based on your weaving ability! Classes run concurrently, afternoon or evening sessions. Ages 18 and up.

BEGINNING WEAVING


This class will cover several aspects of weaving and setting up a loom, from warp calculations to fully dressing it for weaving. Each student will have a loom to set up and work on. Students will make a small hand towel in plain weave. This can also be used as a small table runner or placemat as well. A material fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class.

ADVANCED BEGINNING WEAVING


This class is a continuation of Beginning Weaving. Students will dress their loom as in beginning weaving and weave a sampler of basic twill weave structures and a small hand towel or table runner of their choice. A material fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. Students should bring a notebook, pen or pencil and scissors to class.

WEAVING - INDIVIDUAL STUDY


This class will use Pattie Graver’s book, “Next Steps in Weaving” to study one of the following weave structures - Over Shot, Summer Winter, Shadow Weave or Lace. Students will weave samples that can be made into mug rugs or coasters, then can continue on to a bigger project in future classes of “Individual Study”. A material fee of $20.00 will be paid to the instructor to cover the cost of yarns and miscellaneous materials. The book may also be purchased from the instructor. Pre requisite: Beginning Weaving or can fully dress a loom. Ages 16 and up.

BEGINNING CROCHET


Learn the basics needed to get started crocheting AND have a completed dish cloth to show for all your hard work! Class will cover single and double crochet, chains, changing colors, edging, how to finish and more. Time permitting, pot scrubbers made from nylon netting will also be covered. Ages 14 and up.

INTERMEDIATE CROCHET


Learn to read a pattern while crocheting a market tote, or bottle carrier, in the round. Either project can be customized to be as colorful, or as simple, as you prefer. Beginning Crochet class, or previous knowledge of basic crochet, recommended. Ages 14 and up.

ABERDEEN QUILT GUILDS


The Aberdeen Quilt Guild meets the third Thursday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the ARCC. The Candlelight Quilt Guild meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to anyone interested in quilting. Local quilters meet to share old and new techniques in cutting, piecing, color selections, and quilting by hand or machine. Demonstrations held monthly. Please call 626-7081 for more information.
