Puppet Show

Puppet show for all ages on Friday, May 18th at 4:00PM in the big meeting rooms. Come listen to a story about a dog who doesn’t bark in Bark, George, help us find out who stole the cookies in The Great Cookie Thief and Pete the Cat will tell you all about our Summer Reading Program that is starting soon. There will be jokes and songs for everyone to enjoy along with the stories. No registration required and free.

Summer Reading Program & Activities

Starting on Tuesday, May 29th you can come and get your Summer Reading bookmark and start reading/listening through July 26th. The bookmarks will be available at both the main desk and children's room desk. This year there will be one bookmark for kids (babies-5th grade) and one for teens/adults.  For the kid bookmark they have to listen/read to 40 books and the teens/adults bookmark they have to listen/read 10 books.  Books, ebooks, eaudios, audiobooks, and magazines all count!!  When you have completed your bookmark, bring it to the children's room desk for a sticker. The last day to bring in your bookmark is Thursday, July 26th. Your bookmark is your ticket to get into the End of Summer Carnival so don't forget to bring it with you!  The Carnival is Friday, July 27th from 4:00-8:00PM and we will be having food vendors, balloons, games, prizes and a special appearance by Rockin' Rob!! Come and join the fun!!


Special Events

June 14th - Bramble Park Zoo at 2:00PM - The Watertown Zoo is bringing different critters and animals for the kids to see.
June 29th - Ventriloquist Lisa Laird at 10:00AM and 2:00PM - Lisa will be doing a show that goes with our summer reading theme with different puppets.
July 19th - Hanson Family Jugglers at 3:00PM - The family will be doing different juggling acts and tricks.
July 27th -  End of Summer Reading Carnival  at 4:00-8:00PM

Merry Mondays Story Time 

A "Merry" story time for all ages! Different stories, songs, fingerplays, sensory play and activities each week. No registration required. Caregivers are expected to attend.

Date: Mondays, June 4th - July 23rd (No program July 2nd)
Ages: All ages are welcome
Time: 10:00AM

Summer Swing Story Time

Story time for all ages with a different theme each week. Come enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, sensory play and activities each week with using the different early literacy components. No registration required. Caregivers are expected to attend.

Date: Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 5th - July 26th (No program July 3rd and July 5th)
Time: 10:00AM (same program offered at all times)
Ages: All ages are welcome

Movin' & Groovin' Kid Adventures (K-5th Grades)

Get ready for a summer musical adventure! Kids in grades K-2nd and 3rd-5th will explore a new topic each week in an active and fun environment. STEM components will be featured with challenges, activities, experiments and more. Programs run one hour long. No registration required. Caregivers are welcome to attend.

Date: Wednesdays, June 6th - July 25th (No program July 4th)

Themes each week:
June 6th - Listen Up! -- playing games, music and activities where you have to use your listening skills.
June 13th - TBA
June 20th - Pet Rocks -- decorate your own "pet" rock to take home.
June 27th - Music Technology -- learn some fun musical things on the iPad.
July 11th - Musical Instruments -- make your own musical instrument to take home.
July 18th - Just Dance/Guitar Hero -- come show us your guitar and dance skills!
July 25th - Musical Games -- playing different games with music incorporated (you may or may not get wet!)

NEW!! Kids' Coding Club - Grades 4th & 5th

Learn coding skills at the library! Participants must be able to attend all sessions as space is limited. Will be coding with Scratch.
All sessions are full.
